  I'm new to archery and this was my first time visiting a bow shop. I drove over an hour to see Mike in part because of the glowing reviews he has received from customers but also because he is highly regarded among local archers as one of the best sources of technical knowledge for both modern and traditional gear. As soon as I walked in the door I knew that I had made the right decision. I was energetically greeted by Mike, his wife Dee and their dog Trad. Mike wasted no time in getting me set up. He patiently answered all my noob questions and quickly determined exactly what I needed. Before I knew it, I was shooting my recurve in the shop's indoor range with resident trainer Pete, who showed me the basics of traditional archery and provided me with an excellent foundation to grow from. There were other more experienced archers hanging out in the shop as well, and all of them were very friendly and quick to offer advice to a beginner. Overall, my experience at Mountain Mike's was great and I look forward to many years of shooting my bow and visiting Mountain Mike's as much as I can.
